Earth Explorer Competition is an annual online national school-level event introducing students to general knowledge about Earth and neighboring planets.
Primary students (Std. 4 to Std. 6) and secondary school students (Form 1 to Form 5) across Malaysia are invited.
The primary aim is to instill interest and provide exposure to students in the fascinating field of Earth science.
Earth Explorer Competition program in Malaysia comprises five ages;
IESO is an annual competition for secondary school students and was founded by the International GeoScience Education Organization (IGEO).
It aims to increase students’ interest in geoscience, enhance public awareness towards earth science, and to empower earth science teaching and learning processes at school level.
Also, it aims to further foster friendly relationships among young learners from different countries.
Participants will stand a chance to represent Malaysia at the International Earth Science Olympiad (IESO) 2024 in Beijing, China.
The International Geography Olympiad (iGeo) is an annual competition for the best 16 to 19 year old geography students from all over the world.
Students chosen to represent their countries are the very best, chosen from thousands of students who participate enthusiastically in their own National Geography Olympiads.
The iGeo consists of three parts: a written test, a multimedia test and substantial fieldwork requiring observation, leading to cartographic representation and geographical analysis.
The programme also includes poster presentations by teams, cultural exchanges, and time for students to get to know their fellow students and explore the host city.
Participants will stand a chance to represent Malaysia at the International Geography Olympiad (IGEO) 2024 in Dublin, Ireland.
If your school participated in the Earth Explorer Competition in 2023 and you are still teaching at the same school, you do NOT need to create a new ContestHub account.
You can use your existing account to register for the upcoming competition by login using the same username and password. Kindly update your profile account.
Each school is required to appoint at least one Teacher-In-Charge (TIC) responsible for handling registration, payment, and overseeing the competition day.
The designated teacher must have a ContestHub account to ensure our secretary is informed that you are the TIC representing your school.
To be officially recognized as the TIC, please reach out to our customer support team using the phone number provided in FAQs 15.
For the Earth Explorer Competition, our system allows up to three teachers in charge to be assigned. In cases where a school has more than three teachers, please feel free to reach out to our support team for assistance.
To register your students, you must create a new account on ContestHub. If you register your students using a previous ContestHub account, we will assume that the students are from your previous school, and we will also assume that you are still a teacher there.
We do not have any minimum or maximum requirements for registration, as we warmly welcome all schools to participate in our competition.
